Matthew A. Hetland

Born in Billings, MT, Matthew was raised in Montana, North Dakota, and South Dakota.  Matthew is a former member of the U.S. Army, North Dakota and South Dakota Army National Guards where he served in combat engineering, personnel, public relations, and several other command post operations.  In his service Matthew had tours stateside with Operation Noble Eagle as an Air Security Officer (Team Leader), in Germany, and in Honduras at Soto Cano Air Base.  His last assignment was with the 109^TH Engineer Group in the Personnel & Administration Section where he devised the Standard Operating Procedures for additional duty appointments for the South Dakota Army National Guard.

As Director General of a five-state, fifty-member nonprofit foundation's physics department Matthew had leadership and the chief science advisory roles on a research project with the same foundation's paranormal sciences department investigating a particular member of the "shadow people" class of paranormal entities several years prior to them coming into popularity in the paranormal world.  Since he was in grade school Matthew has always been interested in "what lies beyond" that which mainstream science studies.  One of his passions is physics through which he is able to apply the scientific method and rational research techniques to the study of all elements of the world:  Known and unknown, paranormal and otherwise.

A manager by training, Matthew volunteers his skills as such to the MAPSS team as their Resource Manager.  In his career he had responsibilities with multiple research organizations including the aforementioned nonprofit foundation, the former South Dakota Technologies, Realtronics Corporation, and a small and specialized group focused on energy research known as the "HEEPE Working Group," its name based on the name of the project which from which it evolved.  When not working with MAPSS Paranormal he can be found working with one of his business ventures, working on computers and printers, studying for his degree in Finance, or working on his blog.
